Bio

In the heart of Hamilton, Ohio, a musical tale unfolds, led by the soulful melodies of Justin Back and his band, The Borrowed. Justin's journey from a devoted family man, playing acoustic serenades for his kids in the bath and strumming on his porch in the countryside, to a  singer-songwriter, is a testament to the power of chasing dreams.

Justin Back's musical journey began with intimate performances by the tub side for his children, their joyful laughter serving as his first applause. Once Justin's littles aged out of his tub side gigs, Justin decided it was time to take his show on the road and add some fellas to surround him.

The Borrowed is a musical collective carefully assembled by Justin, each member lending their unique talents to create a harmonious whole. At the helm of lead guitar, Mike Shope, with his background in metal, brings a musical mind that defies imitation. His intricate guitar work weaves through Justin's heartfelt lyrics, creating a rich soundscape that captivates the audience.

Seth Bowman, the drummer, is the calm and steadiness that few possess. His rhythm provides the heartbeat of the band, grounding their sound in a foundation of reliability and precision. Mike McIntosh, on bass, is the voice of reason and experience, serving as the constant that steadies the ship through the musical journey.

Together, Justin Back and The Borroweed have crafted a unique sound that fuses acoustic storytelling with the rugged authenticity of Rust Belt country. Justin's debut album, "Hungry and Sober," showcases his songwriting prowess, with lyrics that delve deep into the human experience. Each song is a chapter from his life, inviting listeners to reflect on their own journeys.

But this is only the beginning. Justin Back and The Borrowed are setting their sights on the horizon, preparing to record Justin's second album. This marks a significant milestone, as they evolve together, each musician contributing their distinct voice to the collective whole.

Beyond the music, Justin remains grounded in his roles as a loving husband and dedicated father. His journey from the bathside serenades to the stage is not just a testament to his passion for music, but also to the idea that one can pursue dreams while nurturing what matters most.

Stay tuned as Justin Back and The Borrowed continue to gather fans not just for their music but for the genuine connections they forge through every note and lyric.
